NSM-Christ Community Reformed Church - Clifton Park, NY


 

Sunday evening 6/25/23, we welcomed a group to Trinity and North Street Mission, from Christ Community Reformed Church of Clifton Park, NY.  

Monday morning the group worked our breakfast program.  After breakfast we held our opening circle and gave them a tour of the church.  In the afternoon the group went to People to People Ministries to learn about their organization.

Tuesday morning the group worked the breakfast program.  At 10:30 the group will hear from a former homeless person and learn about all of the challenges of being homeless.

This afternoon the group went to Kidron to work at both the MCC Connections Thrift Store and Sonnenberg Village.  After work we heard from an Amish Man and learn about their culture.  Thanks to Ray and Allyson for providing us pizza for dinner!

Wednesday morning the group worked the breakfast program.  At 10:30, Joan and Sally from the Breakfast program talked to the group about the history of the breakfast program.  After lunch, the group put together personal hygiene kits for Trinity to hand out.  They also worked sorting donated clothes in the "showroom."  The group helped Suzanne with her CAT program for young youth.

Thursday morning the group worked at the breakfast program.  At 10:30, Linda from the Wooster Homelessness Task force talked to the group about their committee's efforts.  After lunch the group went to the Habitat Restore and worked with donations.  We ate a taco bar for dinner and had a closing circle.  

Friday morning the group worked at the breakfast program.  They packed up and headed back home!  Thank-you for visiting North Street Mission!  We had a great week.  We received a text from the group at 9:00 pm that they had made it back to their church in Clifton Park, NY!
