NSM - Richfield UCC June 2018

We welcomed the youth group from Richfield UCC Church to North Street Mission!  The group worked all five mornings at breakfast, two afternoons at People to People Ministries, one afternoon at Sonnenberg Village in Kidron, one afternoon at MOCA house and an evening and morning at Templed Hills church camp.

We at North Street Mission want groups to have a meaningful week and hope that they continue to go on mission trips in the future.  Groups are also encouraged to visit us sometime in the future!  Part of the process involves getting feedback from the groups.  Here is a summary of the feedback from the Richfield UCC group:

- Putting a smile on people's faces every single morning.  Making people feel like they are worth something.
- Love and understanding among the Wooster community.
- Spreading information about this mission opportunity.  Continuing to host mission trips;  feeding the hungry.

NSM - First UCC Sugarcreek June 2018

We welcomed the first group to North Street Mission in 2018!  They were the youth group from First UCC Church of Sugarcreek.  The group worked two mornings in our breakfast program and two afternoons at People to People Ministries.

- Helping and accepting people and inspiring others to help.

- Changing the way people view the communities and not only meeting the needs of the community but helping to stop the uprising problems.

- Giving people at least one meal a day to do what they need to do.  For some it may show that these are good people who do care if they get something to eat.

Trinity Supports our local community

Trinity's building has been open to the Wooster Community since the late-1960's allowing several support and recovery groups to meet.  We currently hold support/recovery groups for Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and most recently have added the Warriors Journey Home Healing Circle.  Below is the current schedule of meetings: 


 Alcoholics Anonymous Recovery Groups                                                            Three weekly meetings meet at Trinity:                                                            Monday evening at 8:00 pm                                                            Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm - Men's AA                                                             Friday evening at 8:00 pm

  Narcotics Anonymous Group                                                             Meets at Trinity Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm

North Street Mission - Ohio Conference Blog post

BIG CITY MISSION IN A RURAL COMMUNITY (We've copied the Ohio Conference Blog post on our North Street Mission - here is the original blog) Wooster, Ohio church says, "We could do that," to becoming host of their own mission trip site.

The idea developed over the course of 14 years as we — pastor, Christian education director and business manager of Trinity UCC in Wooster, Ohio — led countless church members through 50 weeks of mission trips. We have traveled to a wide variety of locations from Providence, RI to Tijuana, Mexico. During many of those trips we began saying, “We could do this!” We COULD provide quality housing and meaningful work and education right in Wooster, Ohio. North Street Mission — a Big City Mission in a Rural Community — was born in Summer of 2017. The project started three years earlier when the Head Start pre-school program that rented six church rooms moved into a local elementary school. Woman's Guild Rummage Sale. Thursday 8 am - 5 pm; Friday 8 am - 1:30 pm. Friday is $5.00 bag day. We receive a variety of items for our Rummage Sale so you never know what treasures you might find.
