The group worked all five mornings at the breakfast program, one afternoon working at Trinity on North Street Mission projects, one afternoon at Sonnenberg Village in Kidron, one afternoon at MOCA house, one afternoon at the Boys and Girls Club and one afternoon at People to People.

Education segments included:  two discussions on our breakfast program one with two volunteer leaders, John & Sue Muskopf and one from a group of four breakfast program participants, went up to Oak Hill Park to work with our CAT program youth, discussion with a member of alcohol anonymous group, discussion with Gary Friend about Warrior Journey Home, discussion with Rhea Schmale about making the homeless mats from plastic bags and discussion with Beth Weaver from Habitat.

We at North Street Mission want groups to have a meaningful week and hope that they continue to go on mission trips in the future.  Part of this process involves getting feedback form the groups.  Here is a summary of the feedback from the Clarksville group:

First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, TN
July 7-14, 2019

I believe that NSM can make a difference by:

1.  Continuing to help others in need and being very thoughtful in a variety of ways.  They also can keep the groups doing different tasks and help them always have a positive attitude.

2.  Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus and showing love to all who walk in your door.

3.  Continuing to help the community of Wooster and showing them that they (the church) are always there for support.

4.  Continuing the breakfast program, and continuing to add more and more groups to leave their impact on the program.

5.  Continuing to help and support the homeless and less fortunate.

6.  Continuing to have a positive effect in the community and continuing to help out in all aspects.

7.  Helping people learn that each of us is a piece in this puzzle we call life.

8.  Helping people learn more about others and some misconceptions people could have.

9.  Taking notice of all people, and working to make them feel cared for.

10.  Continuing to do the things that they do and expanding on their programs if money and available staff will allow for it.

11.  Offering monthly meals on the weekends.

12.  (left blank).

13.  Being the light   Being the light    Being the light

Survey Responses.....

1.  That there is always a way to do things even if that means you have to take the long way around.

2.  I reinforced the fact that I needed to throw away any misconceptions about the homeless/needy.

3.  Hearing the "why" and "who" behind the people, reinforce that everyone belongs.

4.  That since we were given so much we should give back, we should, cause we can.

5.  I noticed how many people are homeless and what groups can do to help other organizations.

6.  I learned that hard work can lead to something great and even a little help can leave a great impact.

7.  Talking to the Amish and the homeless changed my perspective.  I realized we have a lot to be thankful for.

8.  I learned to appreciate everything we have and to always have a positive outlook on life.

9.  That when some people are going through a rough patch, they just need some help and sometimes you just need to be that person who helps.

10.  The people who shared their own stories and talking to the people at breakfast.

11.  I learned / reinforced the thought that all people matter and deserve help.

12.  Broadened my view point on homeless during Breakfast club.

13.  To always be grateful!

14.  Stereotypes are false.

15.  Seeing all the different people.  It changes some of my thoughts and stereotypes about the homeless.

16.  Everybody deserves a chance.  Everybody deserves better.

17.  My overall pre-conceived stereotypes of why people were homeless was completely broken.

18.  I learned that everyone deserves to be a part of this world.

19.  Getting the perspectives of the poor, instead of listening to stereotypes.

20.  Everybody has the right to have food and be treated like a human.
