Do you have trouble finding the right Christmas gifts?  Ever wonder how quickly your gift is thrown away?  Find a solution to your gift-giving problems this year at the Alternative Gift Market where you can give someone else an opportunity to have a better life!

Join us at the Alternative Gift Market on Sunday December 2, 2018 from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm at St. James Episcopal Church (201 N. Market St.  Wooster, Ohio  44691).  At the Alternative Gift Market, you can browse a variety of displays representing humanitarian relief agencies around the world;  you may then purchase $5.00 "shares" in as many as you would like, to give as gifts to friends and loved ones.  With each share purchased, you will receive a Christmas card and a description of the relief project to give you as your alternative gift.  In addition, World Crafts will also be selling fair trade items.  World Crafts is an organization that supports disadvantaged artisans around the world through the marketing and selling of their products.    A recent college graduate might be touched by a scholarship in his or her name or an environmentally conscious grandfather might like a gift of trees to help farmers in Central America.  Alternative gifts are a triple blessing for you, your loved one and the one who receives the help they need.     

Come enjoy lunch and conversation at the marketplace.  Proceeds from the lunch will be donated to local Wooster charities (People to People, Salvation Army, Meals Together, St. James Saturday lunch and Trinity's Breakfast program). 

This year’s Alternative Gift Market is a Wooster Interfaith initiative by the following:  First Presbyterian Church, St. James Episcopal Church, Trinity United Church of Christ, Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, St. Mary's Catholic Church and Wooster Mennonite Church.

May 25, 2023 There are no pictures today.  Sorry.😞   After a 10 hour flight from New York and a 10-11 hour bus ride, we finally made it to our hotel.  It was 10:00 when we arrived and it was great to be able to stand up and walk around.  We are four hours ahead of Ohio.  I’ll have pictures tomorrow.  😊 May 26, 2023 Today was a day full of Ghanaian culture!     We visited a wonderful batik artist. She and her artists cut designs in foam, dip them in very hot wax, shake them off and print the wax on cloth.
