Esperanza Mission Trip

Annual Esperanza Mission Trip with the College of Wooster

Each March Trinity along with students from the College of Wooster go on a joint mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico to build houses with Esperanza International.  Trinity's has been going on this trip for 20 years and with the College of Wooster since 2010.

Pictured above is our 2017 group at the end of the week.  The houses are made of cement block that the families make prior to our arrival.  The picture below is the same house once finished and painted.

During the week our group works side by side with families and neighbors to build the house.  We see first hand that their families and neighborhoods are strong as they help each other out.  We fly to San Diego and rent 15 passenger vans that we drive across the border.  We are housed in a compound called the La Posada.

In the evenings and weekend we keep busy visiting many places to help us learn about the Mexican culture.  We typically visit:   a girls orphanage, Casa del Migrante, Father Jaime's Special needs clinic, Tijuana Xolos soccer game and a visit to the border.

The trip is a great experience!  Once you go it becomes part of you and you can't wait to go back.
